Hello December!

The holiday season has begun!  We hope that you are enjoying this special time of year with your family.  Along with the holidays comes the cold weather.  It is important that each student dresses appropriately for the weather each day.  Coats should be worn to school as the weather gets colder to ensure all students stay warm at recess.  If your child needs a warm coat for the winter, or you need assistance with winter gear, please contact the school Social Worker - Mr. Escobar at (631)348-5415.

We have many exciting activities planned for December.  Our wonderful music teachers, Mr. Seabury & Ms. Burgess, have worked hard with our students to prepare for our winter concert on December 13th.  Staff and students will be able to get in the holiday spirit by attending our Alfano Holiday Sale on December 6th – 8th.  We will also have a holiday spirit week (12/18-12/22) with fun themed days planned by our PTA.  For more information on all that is happening at Alfano, we encourage you to join us for our next PTA meeting on December 6th.  Alfano PTA has been sponsoring some amazing activities around our school, including raising over $1,300 during our penny challenge this November!

As we end 2023, we would like to thank you for your continued support and commitment to our students at Alfano Elementary School.  The success of our students is a collaboration between school and home, and we are grateful for this partnership.  We would like to wish you a restful winter break, and we hope you enjoy this time with your loved ones.  School is closed December 25th - January 1st.  The break is a great time for storytelling around the dinner table, or routines like bedtime reading that can help cultivate connections between home and school.

Wishing all of our Alfano Family good health and happiness in this new year!  See you all in 2024!

Best,
Ms. Vazquez
