During February, we celebrate Black History Month. Alfano classroom teachers will work with students to complete research projects on notable African Americans; students will create banners as part of their research. This work's highlights will be shared during morning announcements, and banners will be displayed on bulletin boards.
On February 3rd, National Read Aloud Day, our Librarian and Instructional Coach (Ms. SanFilippo and Mr. Passaro) will be sharing two videotaped read-alouds, one for PreK -3rd Grade, a second one for 4th – 6th Grades. The videos will be available on the Librarian's Google Classroom for everyone to enjoy. Both stories focus on Acts of Kindness, students will decorate hearts and write one way that they can show kindness towards others.
