Dear Alfano Elementary Families,
My name is Carmen Vazquez, and it is an honor to introduce myself as the new Principal of Alfano Elementary School. I have served as Alfano Elementary School's Assistant Principal for the past three years. I am excited and humbled to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.
I view education as a life-long process, and I continue to challenge myself daily. I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I have experience as an ENL, bilingual,dual-language teacher, and an Instructional Leader in PK – 12th grade. I am thrilled to continue to share my skills as an educational leader with the students and staff of Alfano Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success. I love to spend time with students to get to know their personalities, particular interests, and learning styles. I encourage a growth mindset and ask students never to give up as every day is an opportunity to learn. I am excited to combine my experience, openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students.
This year, we need to work in partnership for your child's education more than at any other time. The social-emotional learning of every child is now more critical than ever as we face a very different learning environment. The Alfano Elementary staff is prepared to share important and relevant social, emotional, and academic content daily.
I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue sharing all of my experiences and knowledge with this wonderful community. Please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation, positive input, and I look forward to celebrating our successes throughout the year.
We Can Do It!
Sincerely,
Carmen T. Vazquez
Alfano Elementary Principal
